Bread that has been the support for hundreds of families in the last three years

In May 2023, on the initiative of "Mission Eurasia", the "Bread of Life" bakery was opened in the basement of the Evangelical church building in the village of Ruzhnitsa. Since then, fresh bread has been baked there every week for Ukrainian refugees, pensioners, large families and people facing difficult circumstances. Over time, aid began to be delivered regularly to those who were unable to meet their daily food needs on their own.

Throughout all these years, the ministry has been led by Pastor Alexander Aftinescu, together with caring individuals who continue to support the bakery’s work. Flour, butter, yeast, sugar, and other ingredients were needed for baking, and people from local churches responded to this need.

One of the families that regularly receive bread is Vyacheslav’s. Together with his wife, they are raising their own children and 12 foster children. When the bakery staff offered to deliver bread to them regularly, they saw this as a special act of God’s care and love.

Over the course of three years, the bakery team has baked and distributed more than 90,000 loaves of bread free of charge to families in need, as well as to four family-style children’s homes and a care home for the elderly. Along with the bread, people received care, support and attention, and for many this served as a reminder of God’s love.
