Gifts that Restore Hope

Saving lives and leaving everything that was dear to her heart, Eugenia (Yevgeniya), together with her husband and five daughters, hurriedly left their native Kharkiv for Moldova under shelling. The youngest daughter was not even two years old at the time. Eugenia knows well the pain her mother feels when her children remember their favorite doll, board game, or other things left at home, especially those that are especially valuable to them.

For about two years, Eugenia has been attending women's meetings at the «Caring Hands» support center, where women find support and learn to enjoy life anew. Eugenia's youngest daughters have already been to the center many times. Eugenia has seen the love and attention with which they create these events for children, so this year she decided not only to bring her daughters to the festivities, but also to be part of the preparation. After learning about the «Give Hope» project, Eugenia was happy to take part in assembling and wrapping gifts.

This year, the Chisinau center held a Christmas party with a warm atmosphere, a program, and gifts, bringing together 100 children from Ukrainian families. Among them were Eugenia's youngest daughters. They were looking forward to this day and rejoiced at every moment. Even small joys have special value when they are far from home, and the happy faces of the girls opening boxes filled with games, stationery, and sweets cannot be forgotten, because, together with the gifts they received, they had the hope of Christmas.

Eugenia is truly grateful that, here in Moldova, she has people with whom she feels supported and warm, and that her children have the opportunity to experience real holidays and believe in miracles again.
