The Ukrainian energy system has suffered heavy blows in the last week of Russia's aggression. In many cities, power outages last up to 16 hours a day, and people's lives become a daily emergency. Without electricity, it is difficult to cook food, stay warm, work, and rest. People are forced to adjust their day to constantly changing schedules. Fatigue and exhaustion have become the norm.
Despite the difficult circumstances, Mission Eurasia held a support action for local residents in Korosteni. A hot meal cooked in a Polish kitchen became a real joy for Korosten residents on a day without light and heat. The «Khlib Zhytya» (Bread of Life) bakery also joined the event, providing people with freshly baked bread.
The story of Mrs Natalia, who came from Kyiv, was particularly disturbing. In the capital, the disconnections are even longer, and the storms are much worse. She says she feels calmer in Korosteni, but her pension is hardly enough to cover the essentials. Mrs. Natalia admitted that she had not eaten meat for many months and thanked her for the warm welcome and support. In difficult times, people feel even more strongly how God cares for their hearts through the good deeds of others....
Children, as always, were most pleased with the presents. They received toys and the «Bible in Action,» which made them happy, and they were cheering, for some, it meant more than a bowl of hot food.
In the midst of darkness and hardship, people survive and get by with mutual support. And each gesture - a bowl of hot food, a piece of bread, or a small game is a representation of light that God gives through His children.
