DEPARTMENT OF RELIGIOUS FREEDOM
Activities in defence of religious freedom
In 2022, with the onset of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Mission Eurasia focused its efforts primarily on addressing humanitarian crises and meeting the critical needs of frontline residents and internally displaced persons. In addition, we are constantly examining the situation of religious freedom in Ukrainian territories temporarily occupied by Russia to respond to persecution of believers.

Main areas of activity of DRS ME:
- Monitoring of the situation in the sphere of religious freedom, collection and analytical processing of data on violations of the rights of believers and religious communities and presentation of the results at appropriate venues
- Assistance to church workers in occupied, liberated and war-torn territories
- Defence of the interests of ministers of churches and religious communities at national and international levels
- Counselling assistance to religious communities affected by military actions in restoring their activities, restoring lost or confiscated documents
- Maintaining national and international dialogue to ensure religious freedom and an enabling environment for religious activities of all denominations
