"Summer of Hope" Camps for Children

Christian children's camps "Summer of Hope" were held throughout Poland. SWW leaders and students were able to reach over 500 children, most of whom were from Ukraine. Even though each of them was far away from their home, friends and relatives, the children were able to experience joy and safety, get to know each other and make friends.

Children's Christian camp programs are always filled with fun games and activities, but the most important time is when the leaders tell the children about Jesus Christ, give them Bibles, and with them the hope of the One who loves them very much. The Mission Eurasia team shared many stories of how God is touching hearts and changing the lives of children and their parents through this ministry.

With the outbreak of war, nine-year-old Anya and her mother and sister had to leave Ukraine and start a new life in Warsaw. Her mother had repented before the war, and dad had died a few years earlier in a car accident. Anya never showed interest in children's activities at church; she preferred to stay home alone with her phone. When her mother brought her to the camp, she had no idea how her child would survive all that time without her phone.

To her mother's surprise, Anya got into the atmosphere of the camp from the first day, learning more about God every day, taking part in various activities and having fun interacting with her peers. When she came home, Anya was excited about the camp; she started reading her Bible and became interested in something other than her phone. Her mum is very grateful for the difference the camp has made in her daughter's life. We are excited to be a part of it and watch God work in the hearts of many children and their parents.
